The Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) of 2021 includes a provision known as Prescription Drug Data Collection, or RxDC. Each year, insurance companies and employers are required to remit data to the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services, Labor, and Treasury pertaining to certain aspects of their health insurance offering. Depending on a number of factors, the filing is done by plan administrators, insurance carriers, and/or employers. The deadline for the reporting for reference year 2024 is June 1, 2025. Each insurance carrier/plan administrator has a protocol to assist employers in meeting this compliance burden. Most of the carriers/administrators have a deadline of March 31, 2025 to remit data to them, which in turn enables them to make an employer’s RxDC filing in time for the June 1st deadline.
